The Jedi Knight Chronicles – Part 4

Last time on Jedi Knight Chronicles, I had just finished questing on Nar Shaddaa...and sometime between the last mission TWO Jedi Masters go missing, including my master.

But first, Republic Command tells me to go investigate an Imperial defector to be. Kira obliges with the timeless "I've got a bad feeling about this"

Abandoned mining bases, the perfect place for get togethers!

Of course, it turns out to be a trap. I'm ambushed by a Sith Lord. It's also revealed that Kira is a Sith by birth!

"Child of the Emperor"? Is that like Les enfant terribles? Being the nice guy that I am I stick by her.

Next stop, Tatoooine. And yet another WMD to stop. This time, it's the "Shock Drum" a siege device which causes micro vibrations until the nearby enemy base shatters itself to bits. Course, the smartass who built it didn't tell anyone that if they don't turn if off it will probably shake the planet to bits. Oops.

Off to visit Uncle Ben!

Land of sand...home of the spice...oops wrong game.

Eventually the quest leads me to a duel with a Sith Lord named Praven...

Charming guy. Despite being a Sith, he falls more under the Lawful Evil category and doesn't agree with the use of the Shock Drum.

You actually have a choice at one point to try the Jedi mind trick on him. It actually works! Then he realizes and gets all angry about it 🙁

Let's fight like gentlemen!

It's a tough battle but he goes down. In the conversation afterwards, I chose to spare him, and even convince him to goto Tython and become a Jedi. He also reveals the location of the Shock Drum and gives me the codes to stop it.

Yep, it just happens to be buried inside the nest of a bunch of Sand Demons. Who would've thought?

This big mofo is possibly the hardest fights I've had in the game so far. Took me about 5 tries to get him, I even had to go back out and grind a level before I could even come close to beating him.

And finally, the Shock Drum, in the flesh.

I opt to destroy the thing instead of capturing it.

And with that the mission on Tattooine ends. Next time on Jedi Knight Chronicles, Alderaan, the French alps, and orbital ion cannons!
