Gundam Battle Operation announced for PS3, launches in June, free to play

Namco Bandai have just announced via Famitsu that they will be releasing a new online free to play Gundam game on the PS3 in June. Dubbed Gundam Battle Operation, the game is said to feature a 6 on 6 battle system, players will use Mobile Suits but can also get out on foot to fight . Scans after the jump.

The game is said to be in development by B.B Studio, the same team who are currently developing Super Robot Wars Z2.  Bandai Namco have also announced that a closed beta of 10,000 users will run between 29th March and 31st March, users can apply to join at this link (does not seem to be operational yet).

A quick glance at the scans gives me the impression that the game will be extremely similar to the game which is already in Japanese arcades called Kidō Senshi Gundam: Senjō no Kizuna. There’ s no indication of whether this game will be playable outside of Japan, but I sure hope it will be!
