This is my 3rd finished build of 2023. I’m doing some stats collection this year and I clocked this build at around 36 hours over 2 weeks.
Everything was going pretty smoothly right until the assembly process. I had somehow misplaced runner P3, which is a single clear runner containing the clear part for inside the head. Luckily for me I hadn’t emptied my bin just yet and after some frantic searching I discovered I had trashed the plastic bag with the runner still inside.
This is the 3rd and possibly the final time I will build this Impulse frame. It is all ABS parts I was kind of dreading it at first but it wasn’t as bad as I remembered. As with the base kit, the EX has quite a few notches and details in the armor that need to be detailed.
Painting
White – Mr Color 306 Grey FS (70%) + White (30%) base coat, followed by Gaianotes EX White for highlight
Dark Grey – Mr Color Phantom Grey base coat, followed by Mr Color Zeon MS Grey highlight. I might have added a bit of extra white for additional highlight
Light Grey – Mr Color Grey FS 305 base coat, followed by Mr Gundam Color Off white + tiny bit of Mr Color 305 Grey FS for highlight.
Red – White primer, Hull Red preshade, followed by starter yellow, finally a coat of Shine Red (70%) + Red Madder (30%)
Yellow – White primer, starter orange, followed by coat of Orange Yellow (90%) + Orange (10%)
Rifle grey – Mr Color Phantom Grey (90%) + Black (10%), followed by Zeon MS Grey highlight
