If you’re getting errors when trying to run Saisei Hen on your PSP chances are you are using a pretty old firmware (eg 5.50GenD). Either you need update your firmware or you’ll need to patch the ISO using ISOTool using this short guide.
Some users have reported that the ISOtool in the original link does not work, if this is the case, try the older version which I have also confirmed to work.
- Download ISOTool
Here’s an older version (1.972) if the above does not work for you - Copy ISOTool into the PSP/GAME folder on your PSP
- Copy the ISO onto the ISO folder on your PSP
- Run ISOTool (should be under games on your memory stick on the XMB)
- Select the SRWZ2 ISO and select Patch.
- Select Patch_Prometheus.
- Select the SRWZ2 folder.
- Once the patching process is completed, enjoy Saisei Hen!
If the above does not work for you, here is an alternative method (Credits to Zankantou from where shall not be named :P)
- Download UMDGen
- Download this patch
- Launch UMDGen and open the Saisei Hen ISO (make sure it’s the unpatched version!)
- In the Explorer tab, expand the PSP_GAME folder, then SYSDIR
- You will see an EBOOT.BIN file. Rename it to something else (like EBOOT.OLD)
- Now drag the EBOOT.BIN from the downloaded patch and copy it into the SYSDIR folder
- Click File, Save As, uncompressed (.iso), save it as a different file name.
- Now copy the patched ISO onto your PSP and run it.
If the above STILL does not work
- Try disabling any plugins you may have running
- Try changing your UMD driver
- Try changing your memory stick
And finally as a last resort, consider changing the firmware you are on.

Hello Again! I have found another method of getting this to run for some of the other people that were having issues with the Firmware they are using. I was running Gen5.50 with prome4 and tried the second method given above. It didn’t work for me.. So I played arround with some of the settings in the UMG gen app, its a great app by the way. I found out the the game is running on the 6.60 PSP firmware, some of you might have knew that already. So I did some research and put together a little some thing for the guys that are having the same problem as myself.. Here is a link to it but I think the link is only active for a couple of days.
