Uncharted 3 Subway Demo Change Notes Part 1

After spending some time with the Uncharted 3 Subway demo, here are a quick list of changes which I have noticed between the demo and the beta. I have split the list into definite, and things which I feel have changed but can’t test for now.

Things which have definately changed from the Beta:

  • Various weapons sounds have been changed, especially the AK, Para-9 and Arm-Micro
  • Hipfire auto tracking has been nerfed in general, but hipfire accuracy seems to have remained.
  • The Weapons Expert booster isn’t in the Demo.
  • Grenades have been nerfed slightly. They now take a bit longer to explode after contact.
  • The grenade nerf also makes throwbacks easier to do.
  • Sprint is much more controllable than the Beta. Previously you could only turn very slightly, but now you can turn 90 degrees and more easily. This combined with the extra health means it’s actually quite easy to escape fights.
  • There are a few custom version of the Para-9 / Arm-Micro which you can purchase, like Drake’s Para-9, Marlowe’s Para-9, Sully’s Arm Micro. These custom versions have different stats to the normal ones.
  • Instead of the Heroes starting inside the plane on the Airstrip map, Heroes now start on the set of trucks on the other side of the plane.
  • Powerplay music has changed. The ones from the Beta sound way better!
  • There is a ‘Report Player’ option in player profiles.
  • In TDM, music plays when there are 5 kills left.

Things which I feel have changed but don’t have definitive proof:

  • G-MAL has more recoil now, and the default aim down sight doesn’t zoom in as much.
  • Para-9 has been nerfed a fair bit. I would say it takes at least 7 bullets to kill, has more recoil and the rate of fire isn’t as good anymore.
  • The sound for reloading is much quieter. I say this because I’m pretty used to the loud noise from Uncharted 2, which is my cue for knowing when the reload animation is completed.
  • Health feels like it has been increased.
