SEGA annouces Phantasy Star Online 2 pre-open β test, releases stats for Closed Beta

The Phantasy Star Online 2 Closed Beta finished just under a month ago and there’s going to be an open beta soon. But before the open beta starts, SEGA will be having a “pre-open beta closed beta” in late June. Wha?  Hit the jump for the details.

From the offical sign up page:

People played the α, α2 test, the closed β test, will automatically be registered for the pre-open beta.

The next test is scheduled in late June

Data from the “pre-open β test”, will not carry over to the “open β test”

Data from “open β test” will NOT be carried over to the full game

To those who participate in the “pre-open β test” will receive some kind of special reward

They recommend you sign up early to avoid last minute congestion with the signup service

If all goes well with the pre-open β test, the open beta will shortly follow.

If you missed out on the Closed Beta, sign up for the pre-open β test here, the signup guide for the closed beta should still apply for the most part.

SEGA have also released a whole bunch of stats regarding the closed beta.

The client was downloaded 147,000 downloads times throughout the course of the CBT and there were 131,000 users. The maximum number of simultaneous connections was 23,500 people and the average number of connections per day is around 21,000 people. The average number of logins per day is around 63,000 people.

You can find the whole slew at the Official Site, which gives breakdowns on stuff like classes/races played etc. Interestingly enough, 70% of all characters created were female! I guess that breast slider was a real hit 😛
