This is my 14th build this year and entry for Cerulean Project 2022. I originally had no plans on entering until Gunpla Son AI Paintworks convinced me otherwise. The theme was orange so I decided to use the 30MS Rishetta since the default colours fit the bill. This was my first major photoshoot in almost 9(?) months and I got reminded how exhausting the process is.
I used the Body Option pars G01 Color A to give her some *ahem* upgrades *ahem*. I honestly cannot believe Bandai let those boobs rock!
I made the mistake of not masking the pegs on the thighs before painting. Since skin tones require a significant number of primer and layers of paint, these became pretty tight, especially when equipping the various ring parts. I sanded these down slightly but went ever so overboard and as a result the legs became pretty loose.
The poses were inspired by Felicia (Darkstalkers), Sabretooth (X-Men) and Street Fighter. I also managed to get the legendary Pepe Punch pose, whilst it’s not 100% perfect I think it’s a pretty close rendition. Despite my mistakes, the kit is pretty sturdy and managed to do everything I threw at it right until the very end. The thigh to leg connections were very loose due to my sanding mistakes and I ended up breaking the neck but luckily the hand option part set gives you extras.
On a note to myself, some of the damage to the paint on the thighs can be slightly mitigated by taping up the invisible areas during action poses (like the butt cheeks).
Painting
The speed parts by default are completely orange, I decided to paint the claws white just to break things up a bit.
Flesh tone – White primer, followed by Mr Color Lascivus Clear Pale red preshade on shadows, followed by Mr Color Lascivus Clear Pale Orange (60%) + Clear Pale Red (40%). A dark red/brown colour pencil was used to colour the belly button.
Black – Mr Color GX Ueno Black base coat, bit of Neutral Grey and Red added for highlight
Dark Grey – Mr Color GX Ueno Black (90%) + Neutral Grey (10%) base coat, more Neutral Grey added for highlight
Purple – Mr Color Purple + Blue FS
Orange – White Primer, Orange Preshade on edges, followed by coat of Orange (80%) + Orange Yellow (20%). Orange Yellow applied for some highlight
White – Mr Color 306 Grey FS base coat, followed by Gaianotes Pure White
Hair – Mr Color MS White + Mr Color 306 Grey FS used to lightly preshade shadowy areas, followed by light coat of MS White.
