RG Freedom Gundam

YJ, the timeline is all messed up!

This is a build all the way from mid 2015, back when I was still using acrylics and Future Floor Polish to top coat my models. As such, the kit is now suffering micro-fractures in the paint, which I can only guess is caused due to the different rate at which the Future expands/contracts compared to the paint layer.

At the time, the RG was the definitive version of the Freedom, and I built it alongside the RG Justice as a sort of a twin build. Unfortunately, the kit design itself hasn’t really aged that well, as the arms of early SEED RGs have a tendency to pop out of their sockets and tend to be really saggy once that happens. The kit is also incapable of standing up without the help of an action base.

Still, it was pretty fun to pose, but the Freedom is one of those Gundams where a lot of artistic liberty is taken during animation. I found most of the most iconic poses such as the Full Burst look far better on screen/in your head than in real life.
