Final Fantasy X HD resurfaces with a tech demo

The almost forgotten HD remake of Final Fantasy X made a surprising appearance at the Vita Heaven conference last night, with Square Enix showing off a tech demo running on the Vita.

This marks the game’s first showing since it was announced for the Vita and the PS3 sometime in September 2011. No other details were announced, but Shinji Hashimoto of Square Enix did mention that an official announcement/update would be coming “soon”.

Granted the game looks much better in the video than it does in the screenshots. The in-battle models better than their PS2 counterparts, but still not up to the quality of the high polygon models used in cutscenes. Also you’d think that after 18 months they’d have a little more to show than a model viewer.
