It’s the end of the year, which means it’s time for a recap of this rather strange (and long) 12 months for me.
Gaming
Star Wars: The Old Republic
The year started with a short stint in the Old Republic, my first MMO since the days of World of Warcraft 6 years ago. I only played for about 2 months, from February till April when Saisei Hen came out, and it weird because while Old Republic wasn’t a bad game, but the character storylines were pretty good till the point where after you had completed them, the rest of the game wasn’t that compelling to play. Unless it’s Phantasy Star Online, I’m going to try to steer clear of MMO’s in the future.
Super Robot Wars Z2 Saisei Hen
Without a doubt, I’ve spent the greater part of the year playing Saisei Hen. I thought it would take me a month, maybe two at most to finish my LP, but the accompanying videos started getting longer, and longer, eventually becoming stories of their own, culminating in the epic 00 Gundam Finale.
Eight months later, I still haven’t actually finished Saisei yet, but I’ve managed to learn quite a bit of video editing in the process, as well as some new Kanji. It’s also the first SRW where I’ve really wanted to understand the story. I am getting pretty darn weary though.
Super Robot Wars Original Generations 2
Having learned from my mistakes in Saisei Hen, I decided to finish Original Generations 2 before doing any kind of LP or video content. I completed the game in the month, pretty much allowing me a clean slate to do whatever content I want next year.
Uncharted 3
I still play Uncharted 3 occasionally. The game has had a rocky road over the last year in terms of game balance, but it seems that it’s finally stabilized, and will probably remain my ‘go-to’ game for quite some time to come.
I still troll UC3 online with my bullshit sniper tactics.

Street Fighter X Tekken – Bought and played for a week, botched by Capcom. However with the 2013 patch coming soon, I’m almost looking forward to it again.
Hitman Absolution – Not purchased yet
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection – Haven’t started
Mass Effect 3 – Haven’t started
Diablo 3 – Played about 1 hr
Halo 4 – Haven’t started
Ninja Gaiden 3 – Never bought as it was poorly reviewed
Assassin’s Creed 3 – About halfway
PS Vita – Purchased, however still waiting for a killer Vita title

It’s probably a good thing that these few games got delayed, because I wouldn’t have had the time to play all of these this year anyway (much less the stuff I actually did buy).
Gunpla
This year was primarily dominated by AGE, SEED and Wing releases, but we did get some Unicorn and even a shiny new Nu Gundam revision.
While nothing’s been touched in my own personal stash, I’m moving out into a bigger place next year, where hopefully I’ll be able to start building again after a 4 year hiatus.
What’s in store for next year?
Finishing the damn Saisei LP
With 4 stages to go, I’m finally looking at finishing the Playthrough around February.
Arranged Battles
You can expect a few more Saisei videos in the new year, especially the Macross F X 00 Gundam finale video. I’m also going to try some Original Generations 2 stuff, but not to the same level as the AB’s I’ve done so far.
Something OGs2 related
Whether it’s an LP, Arranged Battles, attack videos, who knows, but I’ll try my hand at it.

Japan Holiday!
I’ll be taking a long overdue holiday to Japan in March. It’s my first holiday in almost three years, and my 3rd time back to Japan. I’ll be sure to stock up on lots of Gunpla 🙂
Resolutions for 2013
Finish a game a month
In order to start dealing with my massive backlog, I’m going to try finish one game a month. Given my lack of time these days, I’ll probably have to skip many optional objectives during each game and just blitz through as fast as I can.
Build some Gunpla
I’ll probably be moving out of my shoebox sometime this year, so hopefully my new place will allow me to
start building again.
Get fit again
Having such a long term project like the Saisei LP project drag out has had some effect on my health. It’s nothing serious, but I’ve skipped many a gym session because I’ve wanted to finish a video or a particular stage. So this year I’m going to try to get back into shape.
