MG Strike Freedom: WIP Part 1

Back in Japan last year, I had a choice of either getting a Shin Musha Gundam or Strike Freedom.  All I know now is that I’ve made a terrible mistake.

Something really bugs me about this suit.  I think now the backpack/wings are too crazy, also there’s too much of that dark blue/black that doesn’t mesh well with the rest of the colours.

Anyway I’m going to put this kit out of it’s misery as (one of) my latest project.

I find the gold joints really cheesy, so they will all be converted into the normal gray frame colour.  I’ll leave the gold joints on the wings still though.  Other than that, the colour scheme will be stock OOB.  I’ve had a nightmare trying to devise a colour scheme that I like (that’s not Keita’s, alot of people have been copying his scheme I find).  Here’s some of the ideas I had:

In terms of construction, the actual suit itself is pretty standard 2.0 MG fare.  The wings though are a massive fucking pain in the arse to build, since there does not seem to be any way to mod them to allow the gold parts to be painted seperately.  So there will be some additional time required for this.  The rail guns also have huge seamlines that need to be cleaned up, fortunately they can be modded to allow painting seperately.
