Bandai Namco have just announced a new Super Robot Wars game for iOS and Android. Dubbed Super Robot Wars Card Chronicles, it features a yet undisclosed system that is centered around collecting and upgrading cards.
The game will apparently be free-to-play and be supported by microtransactions. The game is currently set for release in Fall 2012.
For users outside Japan like myself, there’s a small chance that we might actually be able to play this, depending on how the whole microtransaction thing plays out. If it’s something like Super Robot Wars Mobile where you have to purchase each stage separately then count me out, otherwise, there’s still hope.

Mazinkaiser and Getter Robo Armegeddon, this is dream coming true.
too bad their not on a regular SRW game.
Its awesome to see the sprites for ones such as Combattler V, Voltes V and Zeorymer how they would look in the Z style which this style looks alot like 🙂 Sadly we probably won’t be able to play this outside Japan 🙁 Hopefully these sprites will appear in Z3 or another game using the same sort of style. Have to wait and see I guess

Those sprites, the Zeryomer, The Dragnars and G-Gundam at least, are from Super Robot Wars MX.

Yeah I recognised those from MX, they just sorta had a tinge of Z but looking back on it yeah they more than likely are prolly directly from MX. Still, maybe we’ll see these series’ return for another console SRW in the future
