I needed some red shading practice…and what way is better than building one of Char‘s Quattro’s suits?
On a side note, I actually started this kit about a month ago. But I’ve been really busy looking for a new house, so haven’t had much time to work on it!
12/09/09 : Finally completed today. Here’s some shots with my iPhone until I have time to take some hi-res shots and posing.
Preview of the pretty much completed Strike Freedom. The only things left are the railgun internals and the gold highlights on the wings, which can be finished in like 10 minutes. Sadly I lost one of the red verniers on the wings, and it’s a real eyesore without it.

Very slow progress on this kit. Been almost a month since I opened the box and started cutting stuff up, and I haven’t even painted (well airbrushed) anything yet. But this weekend I actually managed to get the wings assembled at least.
As per my lineart, the wing internals will be gold still. I used Tamiya Gold spray, since I’m lazy, and I don’t think acryllic gold looks as nice when airbrushed on.
Back in Japan last year, I had a choice of either getting a Shin Musha Gundam or Strike Freedom. All I know now is that I’ve made a terrible mistake.
Something really bugs me about this suit. I think now the backpack/wings are too crazy, also there’s too much of that dark blue/black that doesn’t mesh well with the rest of the colours.
Anyway I’m going to put this kit out of it’s misery as (one of) my latest project.
So back to a Gundam…I’m still not convinced I’m good enough yet to tackle one of my favourite suits yet, so I’ve decided to try build one of the lesser known Gundam’s (and one of the more over the top ones).
The Murphy’s law of Gunpla Building – shit will always get lost or broken.

MG Zaku II F2…never built a Zaku before, but the great thing about Zeon suits is that they never have that many seam lines. So with no Gundam head mod to worry about, the whole build process is alot more streamlined. More after the jump.
