Namco Bandai have announced that the first unit to be unlocked on the arcade version of Gundam Extreme VS Full Boost will be the Unicorn Banshee. The release date is set for the 26th of April, this unlock will also come with a few minor balances to units. Hit the jump for a video a list of changes.
I may have overlooked this little bit of news, but since it has suddenly become extremely relevant to me, it has been confirmed by Famitsu that the Phantasy Star Online 2 Beta will commence on April 19th.
While not a particularly “special” edition, I managed to import this for around the same price as a local standard copy. This Special Edition includes a prequel comic by UDON to the game, titled the Power of Pandora, a mini arcade cabinet that can be used as a piggy bank, and a bunch of extra DLC gems. Last night I was at the Video Games Unplugged: Symphony of Legends concert, which was hosted by Scott Kurtz, Kris Straub and Wil Wheaton, and featured the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra playing music from some of the greatest games ever. So how was it?
While adventure games have had some rough times over the years, I think we’re starting to see somewhat of a revival, thanks to the iPad and the whole community funded approach. There have been quite a few gaming Kickstarter projects lately, but here’s one which I find really interesting. Jane Jensen, veteran of the adventure game genre and creator of the very awesome Gabriel Knight series has started her own development studio and wants help funding some new games that she is working on.
Captivate has just blown up the Internet overnight with a slew of new details and info for Resident Evil 6 and DmC, most interesting of which is that the release date for RE6 has been pushed forward to October. Hit the jump for new trailers.
For those that might’ve missed it, the Phantasy Star Online 2 character creation demo is now out. The 400mb download allows you to play around with the complete editor, which has of the most robust character creation tools I have ever seen in any game. Finally there is also a benchmarking tool which gives your PC a score based on how well it runs the game. Hit the jump for the download links.

My Let’s Play! Super Robot Wars Z2 Saisei Hen playthrough has now started! I won’t be updating the main page here, so please be sure to check the index page from time to time or follow me on Twitter to get the latest updates. So far I’ve only got the prologue stages done, but I’m aiming for daily updates.

A post on the official Playstation Blog confirmed today that the upcoming map pack for Uncharted 3 will be released on Tuesday 10th April, and the 4th and final map included will be London Streets. Hit the jump for a video preview.
