53rd Shizuoka Hobby Show – MG Hi Nu Gundam ver.Ka, 1/100 Nightingale

The 53rd annual Shizuoka Hobby Show is currently running in Japan where Bandai has totally dropped the bombshell with some new crazy Gunpla announcements.

Reborn-100 scale

Reborns 100

Bandai have announced a new 1/100 scale line, dubbed ‘Reborn-100’. This scale is supposed to have:

‘more refined parts and a highly-detailed appearance.’

This series looks like it will produce MG stylized 1/100 scale models but without the complicated internal frames. I guess this allows them to move some of the budget from engineering the frames to designing and molding the actual kit.

The first release of the kit is going to be Char’s Nightingale (WTF), which is coming out in September.

The price of the Nightingale haven’t been announced yet, but I’m hoping since the engineering isn’t as advanced it won’t cost the Earth. Not only that, but Bandai have gone ahead and announced the next two kits in the series:

Future releases in this new category are also planned.
REBORN-ONE HUNDRED 1:100 GUNDAM Mk-Ⅲ (December 2014)
REBORN-ONE HUNDRED 1:100 RX-78GP04 (GERBERA) (March 2015)

Gundam Mk-III? GPO4? This is one of craziest announcements Bandai has ever done. So I guess Reborn-100 is going to be all series with all the crazy MSV designs?
