New Super Robot Wars UX screenshots, Tactical and Special Command system revealed

Edit: Updated with correct info on Tactics and Special Commands

Famitsu have posted an article with new screnshots for Super Robot Wars UX, showcasing units from Mazinkaiser SKL, A Wakening of the Trailblazer, HEROMAN and more. The article also shows a new system dubbed Tactical Commands (戦術指揮), as well as Special Commands (特殊行動) which allows units to perform area of effect buff/debuffs on allies and enemies.

Here are some new attack screenshots, you can find more at Famitsu’s article, but here are my picks.

Tactical Command

This seems to be the “Zero’s Tactics” system that was in Super Robot Wars Z2 where Zero could give buffs to allies. Only commanders seem to be able to use Tactics, and unlike Zero, the bonus applies to all allies. There seems to be different effects that you can switch between in the intermission screen, and they level up as the scenarios progress.

Special Command

Now everyone can be like Zero and Basara! This is a new system in SRW UX which allows units to perform various AoE effects that can effect enemies and allies. Here are some examples.

Deceive – Nerve Crack

Nerve crack lowers enemy stats by 15 and boosts allied pilot stats by 15 in range for 1 turn.

RVF-25 – Composite Sensor

Using Luca’s Composite Sensor ability reduces enemies accuracy and evasion by 30% for 1 turn.

00 Raiser – TRANS-AM Burst

For 1 turn, TRANS-AM Burst lowers all enemy stats by 20 and boosts allies stats by 20 in the area.

Demonbane – Atlach=Nacha

Demonbane spreads a web, preventing enemy units from entering the area for 1 turn.

It’s not explicitly stated whether using a Special Command uses up the unit’s turn or not, but I’d assume it does, since Zero’s Tactics commands used up his turn in SRWZ2. Also note, these Tactics take EN to perform.

Overall, the system looks like it’s repackaging various abilities from previous SRW’s in a new way (Basara’s song system, Dragonar AWACs, Zero’s Tactics etc). Hopefully they can make more interesting abilities like Demonbane’s Atlach=Nacha, instead of just straight buffs and debuffs.

+20 Stat boost for everyone in a 7-range radius? And that’s just the 00 RAISER?

10 bucks says this system is going to be one hell of game-breaker.

    It takes 80 EN though.

But yes, even that’s pretty hax for an early game unit.

Looks like an awesome way to take less useful or unupgraded units and still get use out of them.

Yeah… and it does it *both ways*. That’s a 40 stat gap if both attacker and target are inside the radius. That’s kinda nutty. On the other hand, that’s half of 00 Raiser’s EN, leaving it’s attacks very limited… back to the other hand, though, 40 stats is probably enough to render 00’s attacks completely unnecessary thanks to a tremendous damage boost.

Still, I’d say that Luca’s got a really useful one. The RVF-25 has very few EN attacks, if any, and isn’t a strong attacker, anyway, basically giving us a number of free Flashes… with a *radius*. Everything in the roster would benefit from something like that.

And Decieve’s Nerve Crack is *nearly* as good as 00 Raiser’s Trans-AM… And costs *less than half*. Seriously, the sheer utility there is enormous. That’s far more hax.

    Sounds… Very broken.
