A short update on the Let’s Play Saisei Hen project, and the blog

Some of you might’ve noticed that I haven’t been posting as regularly lately. I’ve been hella busy with personal stuff, as well as playing Saisei Hen! Here’s a general update.

In short, playing Saisei Hen is taking much, much, MUCH longer than I originally planned. In one month, I have only managed to play through one third of the game, even less if you’re counting route splits (which I think I will end up doing this time unlike Hakai Hen). By comparison, I finished Hakai Hen in a month and a half.

The general process of making a stage goes something like this:

  • Figure out who to deploy (it’s excellent when I don’t have too much choice)
  • Play the stage. While I’m playing I usually do the following
  • Doing the writeup for the LP as I play
  • Capturing any misc battle footage
  • Thinking of/finding what music I could use
  • Once the boss(es) show up, I plan which units and attacks I want to showcase
  • Capture specific battle footage, I try to get all boss attacks in. This can get extremely time consuming as I may need multiples against several different targets.
  • Once the stage is complete I start cutting and editing for the arranged battle video. This used to be a 30 minute hack job, but can now take up to 6 hours each!

So yes, a far cry from the “3 stages a day” in the Hakai Hen days, but I find that I’m enjoying the experience more, and hopefully creating a more unique and interesting playthrough for you guys to read. I will also be working on a short guide on how to create these videos in the near future.

On a final note, I would appreciate it if you please rate, comment on my YouTube vids, subscribe to my channel and follow me on Twitter! Also please share my playthrough with with your friends! Your thumbs up and views go a long way in helping me keep  motivated for this long journey!

Yeah, sounds like a lot of work. Keep it up, though! I’m going pretty slow myself.
