Batman Arkham City Collector’s Edition Unboxing

I’ve had the Collector’s Edition of Arkham City lying around for weeks now, but with all the Uncharted 3 I’ve been playing, it’s been hard to find the time to do the unboxing for it.

The Collector’s Edition includes:

  • A custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
  • A collectible art book
  • Arkham City Soundtrack
  • Batman: Gotham Knight – a DC Universe animated movie
  • The Dark Knight Returns in-game skin
  • Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map DLC

Unboxing after the jump.

The box has a clear window on one side so you can see the Batman statue.

One side panel has some Joker artwork, while the other side has a listing of the stuff which comes with the Collector’s Edition.

Popping the lid open you can see that there’s a small compartment behind the statue which holds the artbook.

Here’s your standard VG collector’s edition hardcover artbook. You can see some more pics in the gallery below.

It’s kinda strange to see that the Steelbook isn’t included in this version. Instead the artbook has a disc holder on the back cover, which is where the game is stored.

Along with the DLC there’s also some advertising pamphlet included which has some free trial of Gotham City Impostors amongst other stuff.

Another dissappointment is the soundtrack. It’s digital download only and you can a code which you can redeem online to download it.

The final main selling point, the statue, is thankfully quite good. Kotobukiya have been making PVC figures for some time and the quality definately shows. Lots of fine detail everywhere and the figure itself has a nice weight to it.

Finally you get a Batman: Gotham Knight DVD animated short. This actually comes in a hidden compartment under where the statue is stored, and I haven’t managed to get it out (since I haven’t taken the shrinkwrap off the box), so I can’t comment on it.

Overall, I think this is a pretty good Collector’s Edition.  It is kinda dissappointing that there’s no Steelbook, and the soundtrack is a digital download, but the figure is pretty awesome and makes up for all of it.
