Gundam EXTREME Vs Pre release info

July 30th, 2010 No comments

One of the games I’m most looking forward to this year is the latest sequel to the arcade 2v2 Gundam Vs series.  Extreme Vs is the 3rd installment in the crossover series, and now that it’s using the latest SYSTEM357 arcade hardware, I”m praying for a PS3 port so I can play online against a larger group of players.

Below is gameplay information obtained from players who played at locations tests that I’ve compiled into one post.

Update 22/09/2010 – Pics from 2chan showing “Carnage Face” a mobile armor addon for Extreme Gundam

Update 13/09/2010 – 2 Youtube Cam vids from the AM show

Update 31/08/2010 – Added images for Extreme Gundam

Update 30/08/2010  – Added info about Extreme Gundam + operators.

Hell, it’s about time.

This was a rather last minute purchase for me, with the rather heavy price tag of $150AUD weighing down my decision.

The package includes:

  • Starcraft 2 game
  • Behind the scenes of Starcraft 2 DVD
  • Collector’s edition soundtrack
  • Starcraft Comic Issue #0
  • The art of Starcraft 2 hardcover
  • World of Warcraft Thor pet & other exclusive Battle.net items
  • Jim Raynor’s (USB) dogtags with Starcraft 1 on it

Unboxing after the jump.

Spaghetti Bolognese

July 26th, 2010 No comments

I’m a big fan of making your own pasta sauce from scratch.  And so today, I’ve made my own bolognese using a very simple original recipe that I came up with on the spot.  Here’s how to do it.

Chocolate Fondant

July 25th, 2010 No comments

After seeing Callum on Masterchef dish this out so many times, I decided to give it a shot myself.

I followed this Gordon Ramsay recipe, which is actually fairly simple.  Of course, the main criteria for making a fondant, is having the insides runny when you open it, something which you can’t really check until after it’s baked.

Wing Commander III Unboxing

July 25th, 2010 No comments

Here’s an unboxing that holds a very special place in my heart, Wing Commander 3.  This was the game that really started the ‘Pentium Age’ for me, where computer specs actually meant something to me.  Due to the beastly specs required at the time, I didn’t actually manage to play this until 1996, a whole 2 years after it was released.

Wing Commander II – Deluxe Edition Unboxing

July 25th, 2010 No comments

Back in 1994, I bought my first ever videogame from a computer swapmeet in Box Hill somewhere.

That game was Wing Commander 2 – Deluxe Edition.  And here’s the first of a series of posts where I’ll unbox some of the retro PC games in my collection.

God of War 3 – Molten Cerberus Boss Battle Strategy (Titan)

July 13th, 2010 No comments

At one point of the game you’re forced to fight a ‘Molten Cerberus’ boxx which spits out little exploding smaller versions.  As you start pulling off heads off the boss, you get 1, then 2 satyrs joining in the fight.

Now while this fight probably won’t give you that much trouble on normal or easy, on Titan or Chaos modes, it is literally your worst nightmare, because the satyrs have extremely high health, unblockable attacks, and don’t stun very easily, and blocking is not an option because the explosions from the dog are not blockable.

After about 2 hours of epic fails trying to beat this encounter, I finally managed to beat the boss with a relatively easy to do strategy that has a low reliance landing Gorgon summon.

Here’s how I did it.

Viennese Apple Strudel

July 8th, 2010 No comments

On my recent honeymoon to Europe, I stopped by in the rather sleepy city of Vienna where I managed to sample one of the country’s great food icons, the apple strudel.

Anyone going to Schönbrunn Palace should stop by the Cafe and Restaurant Residenz, where they can try the awesome apple strudel there. I’ve never really liked apple desserts before, but one mouthful of this and you will be totally sold.

The great thing about this place is that they sort of have a package thing going on with the Palace, where you can get a ticket to the palace, a slice of strudel as well attend one of their Strudel shows, where they actually show you how they make it, as well as give you a recipe to take home and try.

Well, guess what I did when I got home.

Uncharted 2 – YJ’s Match Analysis Post

July 5th, 2010 9 comments

I thought I might start a post with some of my greatest Uncharted 2 moments  and replays.  Though they may be a bit old, and I’m using Situational Awareness in most of them, hopefully you’ll still be able to see some of the tips from my other posts in practice.  All these videos are annotated with my comments.

First up is a match on the Village where I go 24-2.

Next is a match on the Plaza where I run 34-6, getting a Rage medal in the process.  My team wasn’t really getting many kills, but thankfully they were pretty good at not dying that much either.  About 3/4 through the match, I pick up the SPAS-12 from an enemy I killed and went on a massive killing spree with it.

More videos to come.
