Jade Hong Kong Cafe, on Carrington Road in Box Hill has it’s own unique take on the common Japanese dish.
For $9 you get a sizable bowl of rice, either cuumbed chicken or pork, topped with Japanese curry. But Jade’s curry is unique in that it doesn’t taste like the standard katsu curry. I can’t pin the taste down, but it’s got an extra punch that’s incredibly satisfying.
As I said before, you get a rather large helping of rice with this dish. Most of the time it’s a real struggle for me to finish due to the sheer amount of rice. Sadly in recent years this dish has gone up 50c in price, just like almost everything else.
Very slow progress on this kit. Been almost a month since I opened the box and started cutting stuff up, and I haven’t even painted (well airbrushed) anything yet. But this weekend I actually managed to get the wings assembled at least.
As per my lineart, the wing internals will be gold still. I used Tamiya Gold spray, since I’m lazy, and I don’t think acryllic gold looks as nice when airbrushed on.
For my impressions of the recently released Perfect Grade 00 Raiser, please see my latest post.
Wow Bandai. Talk about making kits of obscure suits lately. First PG Red Frame, now MG Blue Frame 2nd.
The PG 00 comes with the Raiser and the GN Sword III, so rather unlike the PG Strike, Bandai are being upfront about stealing away your monies this time. As for price, this thing will set you back a cool 26,250Y. Ouch. Get ready to sell off some limbs or ebay your firstborn for this.
How about giving older MS some love. LIKE MG GUNDAM X K THX.
Back in Japan last year, I had a choice of either getting a Shin Musha Gundam or Strike Freedom. All I know now is that I’ve made a terrible mistake.
Something really bugs me about this suit. I think now the backpack/wings are too crazy, also there’s too much of that dark blue/black that doesn’t mesh well with the rest of the colours.
Anyway I’m going to put this kit out of it’s misery as (one of) my latest project.
30/09/09 Update: I added some setups and how do to them in the write up.
After watching Ita-Zan vs Pei Hoon in the finals of the Singapore tourny, I noticed Ita-zan did s.mp whiff, walk forward slightly and managed to do lp SPD on Pei Hoon Sagat to defeat him. Here is the video:
I thought it was a really good setup, but when I tried to replicate it, the result was a little clumsy, because after walking forward, the SPD motion would be done hcb, ub + P, and this time was enough for the opponent to react with a sweep etc.
30/09/09: After watching the video again, it seems that Itabashi actually holds forward, then does SPD as normal going backwards. The reason is that near the end of the video (the final SPD), you can clearly see him walk forward a great distance before grabbing Pei Hoon. While not the same as the technique in this article, Itabashi’s skills managed to condition his opponent to stay there and do nothing while he casually walked in and grabbed him.
After a bit of research last night I devised a new way to do lp SPD that will not only be faster to execute, but also significantly increase Gief’s SPD range. Now normally at maximum s.mp range where it will just miss the opponent, lp SPD will miss completely. This method gives lp SPD enough range to be able to grab your opponent where s.mp will whiff.
